What I've Learned
Joining an established Board 2 1/2 years into the term meant the learning curve was steep. I studied daily, and asked a lot of questions to learn the process and parameters of trustee work.

What I Value
One of the most important roles of a School Board is to create a Strategic Plan. Trustees are responsible for bringing forward priorities that are valued by the community and that will equip students with the skills they need to succeed.

What Remains the Same
There are values that I’ve held for years and that continue to inform my decisions. These include: Inclusion, Truth & Reconciliation, Social Emotional Learning and a sense of Belonging and Connection.

I value the opportunity to live, learn, and advocate for future generations on the traditional territory of the Tla’amin Nation. I am committed to working towards reconciliation by adhering to Calls of Action 62 and 63 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
